Mix laser cutting, wood and thread to create a decorative pendant necklace.
Project Files
Materials:
- Plywood (I used 2.5mm Eucalypt Plywood but any material/thickness will work)
- Cotton Thread
- Ribbon, shoelace or other thread for the material that will go around your neck or to hang it up for decoration
Other Items Needed:
- Tweezers
- Oil/Finishes + Brush (Optional, I used 2 coats of Tung oil)
- Glue (Optional, used for the gift box)
The Build
1: Follow the tutorial on instructables to design your own pendant or load the project file into LightBurn.
2: Modify the settings for the material and thickness you are using.
3: Cut the pendant out and carefully pop out any pieces that are stuck with tweezers.
4: Add a finish to the wood if you like to make it stand out.
5: Thread the cotton in any pattern you like, a Pearle pattern is used here. (Follow instructibles on details of how to replicate the threading shown below)
6: (Optional) Cut the gift box for the pendant and glue it together.
